Renowned Spanish Perfumer Daniel Josier is Designer of ¡Alegría! the new fragrance of Puerto Rico, inspired by the rich culture and vibrant essence of the people of the Caribbean Island. In 1997, Josier led the creative department for Symrise where he worked for almost a decade. In 2004, he joined French company, Expressions Perfumees, catering to such clients as Puig (Carolina Herrera, Paco Rabanne, Nina Ricci, Prada, Valentino); Yves Rocher and L’Occitane. In 2009, the perfumer established his own company, L’Atelier del Perfume, combining industry knowledge and recognition to help small companies develop their signature fragrances. The prolific perfumer has more than 20 signature fragrances under his name with a retail presence throughout Europe, Latin America, Asia, and the United States. In 2019, he was commissioned by Renier Perfumes to create the commemorative Habana 500 fragrance. Puerto Rican journalist and cultural entrepreneur, Frances Ryan, commissioned Daniel Josier to craft the first destination fragrance inspired by the cultural essence of Puerto Rico to mark the 5th Centennial Celebration of San Juan, the island’s capital city.
